Ison & Co Pty Ltd is a wholly Australian owned company. Ison & Co Ltd was incorporated in Nowra. The Directors, have an extensive background in Timber and Hardware retailing, gained in part from years of experience as employees of Ison and Co Pty Ltd. Ison and Co Pty Ltd now operates four stores which stock quality products supplied by both Australian and International manufacturers.
The company has four Directors, a Human Resource Manager and four administrative staff employed in the Head Office, three Store Managers, three 2ic’s, two Purchasing Officers and at least forty other full time sales persons and twenty other employees such as crane drivers, and delivery drivers who deliver daily to customers as well as delivering to the company’s other stores. There is a maintenance person between each of its branch stores and between two and five casual part-time sales assistants who are rostered to cover peak sales times and allow full and part time staff to have breaks.

The Head and administration office is located in the offices on the first floor and the ground floor of the building housing one of its stores in Bridge Road Nowra. A second store is located at South Nowra which is the biggest complex, with another store located in Huskisson.
The company has identified possible services such as contract service agreements with the usage of cranes and the supplying of gravel, soil and sand.
Management Experience
The company has a management team. Below is a brief profile of the senior managers.
Directors:
Margaret Prott, John Ison, Philippa Loadsman and Paul Ison have all had the experience of starting with the company from an early age after leaving school. These people have become Directors since the passing of their father in the middle 90’s.
John Ison oversees the sawmill, with more than 50 years experience working with timber. Pau Ison has 38 years experience in charge of the vehicle fleet, supervising customer deliveries as well as the crane section.
Margaret Prott and Phillipa Loadsman have for many years supervised the company’s accounts and administration.
Date of Establishment
The name, Ison & Co Ltd was registered in 1921 and after that date went on to be incorporated on 30th June 1959.
This date of establishment shows that the company has survived through the depression years and the recession years to present time.
Currently of competitive nature to any opposition, the company is still finding that it can progress in areas where the opposition is demanding and not so demanding.
Locations
Ison & Co Ltd was established with a sawmill at Nowra in 1917 and was only selling timber.
The company now has three stores, one in the centre of Nowra which caters for a wide population of surrounding growth areas north of the Store and from within the CBD. There is adequate parking within the company’s grounds.
The store at South Nowra, which is the biggest of the three stores, is situated on the outskirts of Nowra town and provides for most of the areas south and east of Nowra. This store has ample parking and caters for truck parking.
The other store is situated at Huskisson, and services the population from the surrounding areas such as Vincentia, Huskisson, St Georges Basin, Basin View, Erowal Bay, Old Erowal Bay, Hyams Beach, Falls Creek and Jervis Bay.
